Blessed Pope John Paul II and Blessed Pope John XXIII are named "saints" by Pope Francis and the Catholic Church on April 27, 2014.
In 2010, George Weigel, JPII's principal biographer in Witness to Hope, came to JPII as part of our "Distinguished Lecturer" series on the occasion of the fifth anniversary of JPII's death. Weigel discussed what he believed were the ten enduring achievements of Karole Wojyla's life. Here's a summary of that talk, which seems appropriate to revisit in light of this canonization just four years later.
