They have made it a place a great dynamic, which, if led by one with his eyes persistently on the truth, can bring great joy and fulfilment to all who know it.

I pray that God bless your future endeavours.THERGEhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11566165511074720805noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13701466.post-63477989186995878942008-02-21T17:55:00.000-06:002008-02-21T17:55:00.000-06:00I also have to agree that Mr. Weber has been an ex...I also have to agree that Mr. Weber has been an excellent leader in his role as president of MCPS. He has successfully lead MCPS to a bright and promising future. He will be truly missed by all who have known him as their friend, teacher, principle or as president of MCPS. I wish him and his family good fortune in the years to come.

But let's not lose sight of what makes MCPS successful. It is not one individual but a family whose members are students, teachers, support staff, priests, council and board members, the president, and most importantly--the parents.

Our parents have been a tremendouse force in changing MCPS for the better over the years. They have volunteered their time in the classroom as teacher aids, as drivers for field trips and chaperones at dances. Our PTC representatives and officers have raised money for new technology and classroom funding for our teachers. They have worked as manual laborers to make repairs and building improvements. Our parents have volunteered their time during and after school hours to make sure our children have extra curriculum programs and sport activities. They have also served countless un-paid hours as council and board members to create and establish a long-range vision of a Catholic school that will continue to grow and meet the religious and educational needs of our children well into our future.

I am thankful that these leaders had the wisdom to see that WE--the students, teachers, support staff, priests, council and board members, the president and parents, are ALL NEEDED to make this school great. With each and every contribution WE make we add another "brick" that supports the school we know as MCPS. And like a brick wall that has a strong foundation, this wall will remain standing when ONE brick is removed.

It is for this reason that MCPS can and will go on just like yesterday, today and tomorrow--each and every time someone of great leadership and is beloved by all decides to leave our family voluntarily at MCPS (whether it is a favorite teacher, devoted secretary, volunteer, or even the president of MCPS). We certainly will be saddened by their loss and rightfully so. But we also must remember and feel confident in the fact that our leaders established a strong foundation of support made up of MANY INDIVIDUALS to carry MCPS successfully into the future and not on the back of one man.sltm36117https://www.blogger.com/profile/05917656433237357240noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13701466.post-27892451267959669452008-02-16T13:08:00.000-06:002008-02-16T13:08:00.000-06:00I graduated in 1990 and had Mr.Weber as a teacher....I graduated in 1990 and had Mr.Weber as a teacher. Simply one of the best! My father and grandfather have been active at Catholic over the years. We were a military family, and I have to agree with Mr. Weber about the diverse mix that makes up the Catholic High family. (or is it now Catholic Prep???) As I read his blog, I could recall my classmates who filled each of his descriptions. Catholic is comprised of a very diverse mix of people, and it is that diversity which makes it such a unique place to grow and learn. I remember the environment at Catholic to be nurturing. It was a safe and supportive place where you could truly learn to be YOU. With all that said, I know personally when I heard that Mr. Weber was leaving, I felt like an end of an era was happening and that things would never be the same. I was involved with athletics and extra curricular activities when I was in high school but other than sending some money here and there for various reasons, I really have not been involved since. I just knew from my parents involvement that the school was growing, changing and thriving. I hope for Catholic's sake that everything was done to try to keep Mr. Weber. I think the school will definitely be at a loss without him. It seems to me like he wanted to stay. I am suprised there was not a way to make this happen. Catholic's loss will now be Nashville's gain. My children are in a wonderful school sytem in Brentwood, TN...now with Mr. Weber coming to my neck of the woods, maybe I'll have to rethink a Catholic education for my children! Mr. Weber, you will leave a legacy impossible to fill! I wish you and your family all the best. I can still see you cheering and pacing in the gym -- you didn't miss many games! You have always seemed to have a very special connection with the students...like a friend even though you were in charge! Dinner's on me when you get settled in up here!
Michelle DeLongchamp RobersonMichellehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08264194780826073017noreply@blogger.com
